Welcome to my website!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with training and experience in neuropsychology, pediatric mental health and adult psychotherapy. As a playwright I explore cultural and political issues of social justice, often within historical context. My current full-length play, Kerry to Five Points is in development with the Celtic Arts Center in LA. I combined my background disciplines of psychology and theater in the creation of the Shadows & Light: Untold Stories project outlined on this site. As a writer in collaboration with illustrator Danny Reneau I had the privilege of developing Patrick Shea’s brilliant concept of a children’s book to inspire self-confidence and love of nature in the picture book “Max and the Listening Tree”. I hope you’ll take a few moments to learn more about me in the separate categories above.

Daniel Shea Memorial Scholarship

Daniel was killed in Vietnam on May 14th, 1969, during the battle of Nui Yon Hill and due to his actions as platoon medic he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Danny’s service to others was inspirational to many.
The City of Norwalk in Connecticut honored Danny by renaming Ram Island to Shea Island. The Shea Memorial on Calf Pasture Beach was built with a view of the island. The memorial on the beach was later renamed the Shea/Magrath memorial in recognition of the sacrifice of another of Norwalk’s sons, Medal of Honor recipient, John Magrath, in WWII.
The Daniel J. Shea Memorial Scholarship is established within the philosophy that giving to others and to our communities is at the heart of a great society.
